NUSS's current acceptance documentation confirms that customers can elect to arrange insurance or proceed without NUSS-arranged insurance.
Insurance Documents for Your NUSS Move
Read the current documents relevant to your move before deciding whether to arrange insurance.
The versions supplied with your current quotation should always take precedence over copies retained from an earlier move.

Product Disclosure Statement
The Product Disclosure Statement explains the insurance product available for eligible belongings being moved or stored.
It contains important information about:
- available cover
- policy conditions
- insured events
- exclusions
- valuation requirements
- claims
- your responsibilities as the insured customer
The PDS is designed to help customers make an informed decision about the insurance product and should be read carefully before cover is selected.

Financial Services Guide
The Financial Services Guide provides important information about the financial services associated with arranging insurance.
It should be read alongside the PDS before you decide whether to arrange cover.
Depending on the current financial-services arrangement, the FSG may explain matters such as:
- who provides the financial service
- relevant authorisations
- services that can be provided
- remuneration or benefits
- complaints and dispute-resolution procedures
- your rights as a customer

Insurance Declaration & Acceptance Form
If you choose to have insurance arranged in connection with your NUSS move, you will need to complete the applicable insurance documentation.
The declaration and acceptance form records the information required before insurance can be arranged.
NUSS's current Acceptance of Quotation confirms that customers selecting insurance must complete the relevant declaration and pay the applicable premium.

Conditions of Removals & Storage
The Conditions of Removals & Storage set out the contractual conditions applying to NUSS removal and storage services.
These conditions are separate from the insurance policy and should also be read before your move.
They cover the respective responsibilities of NUSS and the customer and other conditions applying to removal and storage services.

What Is a Product Disclosure Statement?
A Product Disclosure Statement, commonly called a PDS, is a document designed to help you understand an insurance product before deciding whether to purchase it.
For removal and storage insurance, the PDS provides the detailed information behind the cover. It can explain:
- what types of loss or damage may be insured
- which belongings are eligible
- important exclusions
- conditions you need to meet
- how belongings should be valued
- how packing can affect cover
- how claims are assessed
- your responsibilities under the policy
The current QBE documentation states that the PDS is intended to help customers make informed choices and contains information about policy terms, when cover does not apply and customer obligations.
The PDS should be read in full before you decide whether to arrange insurance.
If there is any difference between information on this webpage and your current insurance documentation, refer to the applicable PDS, supplementary documents, policy schedule and policy wording.

Insurance Options for Your Move
NUSS can arrange optional insurance in connection with eligible moving and storage services.
The cover available and conditions applying to it depend on the current policy, your move, how your belongings are packed and other circumstances relevant to the shipment.
How to Arrange Insurance Through NUSS

Insurance is not automatically included in your removal or storage price.

4. Complete the Required Documentation
If you choose NUSS-arranged insurance, complete the relevant declaration and acceptance documentation.
Provide accurate information about your belongings, their values and any other information requested under the current policy.

Insurance & PDS Frequently Asked Questions
Is insurance included in my NUSS move?
No. Transit and storage insurance are optional and are not automatically included with your removal or storage service.
You can review the available insurance documents before deciding whether you want insurance arranged.
Do I have to arrange insurance through NUSS?
No. You can choose to request NUSS-arranged insurance, make your own insurance arrangements or proceed without additional insurance.
The current NUSS acceptance documentation expressly provides customers with the option to decline insurance
What is the difference between the PDS and the FSG?
The Product Disclosure Statement explains the insurance product itself, including important cover, conditions and exclusions.
The Financial Services Guide provides information about the financial services associated with arranging that insurance. Both should be read before deciding whether to arrange cover.
Can I insure boxes I pack myself?
Different insurance restrictions apply to owner-packed belongings. Tell your NUSS consultant which belongings you intend to pack yourself and read the owner-packed provisions in the current PDS before arranging insurance.
Is replacement-value insurance available?
Replacement-value cover may be available for eligible insured belongings, subject to the current policy terms and the policy schedule issued for your move.
Different conditions can apply where belongings are owner-packed. Refer to the current PDS rather than relying on a general website description.
Do expensive items require special insurance information?
Some belongings may be subject to additional declaration, valuation or policy requirements.
Refer to the current insurance documentation and provide any information requested when completing your declaration.
Does insurance cover belongings while they are in storage?
Optional storage insurance can be arranged for eligible belongings. It is not automatically included simply because your belongings are stored with NUSS.
The length of storage and applicable insurance period should be confirmed in your policy schedule. The current PDS states that longer storage periods need to be reflected by an appropriate policy extension.
When should I arrange insurance?
Any required insurance should be arranged and confirmed before the applicable move or storage period begins.
Allow enough time to read the insurance documents, complete the required paperwork and provide the information requested for your move.
What should I do if something is lost or damaged?
Contact your nominated NUSS Move Manager or [email protected] as soon as possible. Follow the claims instructions contained in your current PDS and other policy documentation.
Who can answer questions about my insurance?
Contact your nominated NUSS Move Manager or [email protected].
NUSS can provide information within the scope of its authorised insurance arrangements and direct you to the relevant documents or provider where required.
