Immigration Advice Is Not Provided By NUSS

NUSS does not provide immigration or visa advice. Where immigration support is required, NUSS can introduce the employee to its professional Australian immigration partner or work alongside the organisation's existing provider.

NUSS monitors progress in the background, follows up with the assignee at agreed intervals and coordinates practical relocation timing around updates supplied by the authorised immigration specialist.

What NUSS Can Coordinate

NUSS coordinates the agreed relocation services around information supplied by the employee, employer and immigration specialist. Each provider retains responsibility for its own work.

What Your Registered Migration Agent or Legal Practitioner Manages

The authorised immigration professional should manage matters such as:

  • advising which visa pathway may be appropriate
  • visa eligibility advice
  • visa application preparation
  • visa lodgement where applicable
  • employer sponsorship and nomination advice
  • supporting immigration-document requirements
  • skills-assessment or professional-registration requirements
  • Department of Home Affairs correspondence
  • advice on visa conditions and obligations
  • immigration strategy
  • review or appeal processes

This distinction is important because preparing or advising on a visa application using migration-law knowledge can constitute regulated immigration assistance.

One Relocation Timeline With Clear Professional Boundaries

The immigration process and the relocation should inform one another without blurring who is responsible for each.

Step 1: Understand the Employee Relocation

NUSS confirms the employee's destination, expected timing, family circumstances and approved relocation services. Your organisation's policy, entitlements and budget establish the scope before arrangements are made.

Step 2: Connect the Relocation With the Immigration Process

NUSS introduces its immigration partner where required or works alongside your existing provider. The specialist communicates directly with the employee about the visa process and supplies relevant timing updates.

Step 3: Coordinate the Practical Milestones

NUSS plans the agreed accommodation, home finding, school search, moving and storage services around the information available. Changes to expected dates are reviewed with the employee and organisation before arrangements are adjusted.

Step 4: Keep HR and the Employee Connected

A dedicated NUSS relocation contact provides a central point of communication for the agreed practical services, with progress checks and employee follow-up incorporated into the relocation arrangements.

Visa Terminology HR Teams May Encounter

Your immigration provider can explain the visa pathways, eligibility requirements and application process relevant to the employee. NUSS does not recommend a visa or assess eligibility. We use the information supplied by that provider to help coordinate the practical relocation.

Skills in Demand Visa, Subclass 482

The Skills in Demand visa, subclass 482, is a temporary employer-sponsored skilled visa.

It replaced the former Temporary Skill Shortage visa framework, so the original wireframe's reference to the TSS visa should not be published as the current visa name. Home Affairs currently lists Skills in Demand as one of Australia's employer-sponsored skilled visa pathways.

Whether it is appropriate for a particular employee is a matter for the authorised immigration adviser.

Employer Nomination Scheme, Subclass 186

The Employer Nomination Scheme visa, subclass 186, is an employer-nominated permanent visa pathway for eligible skilled workers.

It is distinct from the temporary subclass 482 pathway.

NUSS should not advise whether an employee qualifies for this visa.

Training Visa, Subclass 407

The Training visa, subclass 407, relates to workplace-based occupational training and professional development activities.

It should not be described generally as an intracompany-transfer visa.

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa, Subclass 494

The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa, subclass 494, applies to employer-sponsored skilled work in designated regional areas.

Because the visa is specifically regional, it should not be presented as a standard Sydney corporate-relocation visa.

Other Visa Pathways

The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa, subclass 494, applies to employer-sponsored skilled work in designated regional areas.

Because the visa is specifically regional, it should not be presented as a standard Sydney corporate-relocation visa.

The immigration process and the relocation should inform one another without blurring who is responsible for each.

Immigration Timing Can Affect the Rest of the Move

NUSS does not control immigration processing, but changes to the visa timeline can affect almost every practical part of an international employee relocation.

Visa Coordination Frequently Asked Questions

Does NUSS provide immigration or visa advice?

No. NUSS coordinates relocation and administrative services surrounding an employee's immigration process but does not determine visa eligibility, recommend visa pathways or provide regulated immigration advice.

Immigration advice should come from an appropriately authorised registered migration agent or legal practitioner.

Does NUSS prepare or lodge visa applications?

No. Visa advice and application services are handled by the specialist immigration provider. NUSS connects the employee with that provider where required and coordinates the practical relocation services affected by the expected timing.

Can NUSS work with our existing migration agent or immigration lawyer?

Yes. NUSS can work alongside your organisation's existing immigration provider. Your adviser remains responsible for the visa process, while NUSS coordinates the agreed relocation services around the information and timing updates supplied.

What happens if the visa timeline changes?

If an immigration milestone changes the expected relocation date, NUSS can review the practical services affected. Depending on the relocation, this may include:

  • temporary accommodation
  • home finding
  • school search
  • household-goods dates
  • storage
  • destination delivery

Any immigration advice about the change itself remains with the employee's authorised immigration adviser.

Can NUSS tell us which visa our employee needs?

No. The appropriate visa depends on the legal and factual circumstances of the employee and employer.
Visa-selection and eligibility advice should come from an authorised immigration professional.

Can NUSS refer us to a migration specialist?

Yes. Where your organisation does not already have an immigration provider, NUSS can connect you with an appropriate specialist immigration partner. The specialist provider remains responsible for all immigration advice and visa application services.

Keep the Visa Process and Relocation Plan Connected

Your immigration specialist manages the immigration process.

NUSS helps keep the employee's accommodation, home search, school planning, household goods and Destination Services aligned with the information and milestones that specialist provides.

Talk to NUSS about the employee, proposed relocation dates and your organisation's mobility requirements, and the appropriate relocation coordination can be structured around the immigration process.
